We needed someplace to stop for breakfast on our way from Peach Springs to the Grand Canyon and Williams was the perfect place to stop. I did some quick Yelping and found this spot - it looked like a perfect Route 66 diner, so we decided to give it a try.
As you can see from the photos, this place is exactly the kind of place you picture as a roadside diner on Route 66. Our server was very friendly and responsive. I ordered a Denver omelette - nothing out of the ordinary, but it was quite good. I also got a side of marble rye toast, which was outstanding.
if you are passing through Williams and are in the mood for a true roadside diner experience, you'll definitely want to to give Goldie's a try! -

We drove in here first thing in the morning with low expectations, but were blown away by the food and the enthusiastic and quick service. The food prepared here feels like it was made with heart and effort that puts some modern restaurant chains today to shame. While I normally gamble between subpar-made eggs and meat at places like IHOP and Denny's (where the food ranges from half-baked to great depending on which branch you go to), Goldie's is one of a kind and offers great food in half the time.
It's a little pricey and could use a little cleaning up, but the old-timey atmosphere and small-town feel more than made up for it. -

This cutesy little diner is found in the town of Williams Arizona. This town calls itself the Gateway to the Grand Canyon, because it's right there! Though I'm not usually the tourist-town type, a brutal snowstorm forced me to find actual shelter. It warned my soul to find an old-school diner with a nice warm breakfast.
The inside is decorated like a page out of my family's memories of road trips in the 50s and 60s, with classic photos and decor. It's kitschy but perfectly situated for the location.
I had an omelet (Aubrey Omelet) with a hot cake on the side to fill up before an active day. The ladies at the counter were super friendly, and they had great rapport with a few regulars having breakfast.
This is a road trip destination that will make you feel at home! -

Got great service and our waitress was funny and attentive. I liked the atmosphere and the classic Americana nostalgia. I don't get why people are saying they had bad service. We had no problems there.
The veggie omelette was fluffy and the first decent one I've had during my road trip. Fries were tasty and seemed homemade. Coffee was good and my cup was always topped up. My chorizo and eggs were decent but a little salty. I can see why everyone loves the green hatch chili peppers though, pretty tasty.
